Ward Update - Halloween weekend |
||
|
Hi,
In a new update we'll be bringing you when we have them, we thought to update you on the teams actions in your area. Now, we cannot, for obvious reasons give you the full details as court cases are restrictive on what we can release, but hope you find this interesting.
Last night the teams were in for an extra shift, 15:00hrs till 00:00. This was on top of our regular duties, but in the past Halloween has brought some anti social behaviour (ASB), so was worth it.
While generally all was well, two cases of note stood out for us.
The first was to reports of two fifteen year old boys throwing fireworks. Incredibly dangerous, as you can imagine. We were just about to grab some food, but dropped everything to blue light it to try and find them. Getting to the location (off Merton Park ward) we located one, but his friend got away. Luckily though, we caught the one with the rockets. STRONG words of advice and a trip in the carrier home to an annoyed parent followed… Fireworks confiscation to be destroyed. 🚨🚨PARENTS - You need to be 18 years old to buy and use fireworks as they are INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS! We'll also be talking to the shop that sold them too…
Then the downpour hit and we were out in that, but the rain kept all crime at bay!
The second was a speeding driver on Merton Park Road. This case got steadily worse as we found drugs in the vehicle and on the driver. Promptly arrested for a list of crimes, and a dangerous driver off your streets. 🚨🚨DRIVERS - It is an offence to drive whilst smoking cannabis. Your senses are NOT the same. Don't do it.
Today we'll be out and about again, looking after everyone as best we can!
Hope you all have a lovely day and don't need us!
Maria and the team.
